1st Bimestre: THE WORLD IS A STAGE

  • Practice the main skills presented in the FCE examination, especially writing (Letter and Review)

  • Apply the elements of drama (setting, plot, theme, characters, conflict) to a dramatic text.

  • Analyze plays and identify the themes and topics related to them (The Comedy of Errors)

  • Organize ideas clearly in written tasks to show comprehension, considering the 6+1 traits of Writing.

2nd Bimestre: LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION!

  • Write, produce and perform an original ten-minute play on the topic of milestones.

  • Write the script of a play, considering the 6+1 traits of Writing.

3rd Bimestre: LOOKING THROUGH A DIFFERENT EYE

  • Analyze the novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, by Mark Haddon, and identify different themes related to it.

  • Make speech and writing more effective by connecting ideas considering the 6+1 traits of Writing.

  • Expand vocabulary through listening/watching films and TV series.

4th Bimestre: WHAT IS LANGUAGE?

  • Practice the main skills presented in the FCE examination, especially Listening and Speaking.

  • Answer different oral and written tasks from the reading of various types of texts considering conventions.

  • Organize ideas clearly in short oral and written tasks to show comprehension considering conventions.

  • Expand vocabulary through listening to music and TV series/films.

  • Test on the elements of drama with a writing task.

  • Storyboard Project adapting the Comedy of Errors to an original work of creation.

  • Sophomore Theatre Festival: Script and Poster for the play (group)

  • Sophomore Theatre Festival: Performances (group and individual)

3rd Bimestre

  • Reading comprehension test on The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (individual)

  • Argumentative Essay on The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (individual) 

4th Bimestre

  • Listening Strategies and Grammar and Vocabulary Test (individual)

  • Oral presentation (group)
